The goat must be registered with the youth’s name on the registration paper to compete in the youth show. Youth will be anyone under 19 years of age on day of show.
Judge:  Pat Hendrickson

Obstacle Course
During the Youth show we will once again have an obstacle course going on inside. Bring your goat and see how fast you and your goat can make it through the course. The fastest time throughout the day will be the winner.

Judging Contest
Immediately after the Youth show, we will have 3 classes of goats to judge. Youth will sit in the bleachers and score the three classes. One of the three classes will have to have reasons given. This event is highly educational, and focuses on improving ones reasons and evaluation skills through one on one interaction with our judge.
Age groups:
Junior: 9-12 years
Intermediate: 13-15 years
Senior: 16-19 years

After the judging contest we will have a light hearted costume contest with awards given . It’s a great time to get to know one another in a fun friendly way!

Rules:  The shows are sanctioned by ADGA and their rules will govern. The Senior Doe and Junior Doe shows are separately sanctioned .  Original registration papers are required on all goats being shown.  Stamped duplicates will be accepted on animals less than 6 months of age. There will be no pre-show milk out.  However, it is a “very serious fault” for does to have over extended udders.

Show Order: We will begin with Senior Does then Junior Does. To keep the show progressing in a timely manner, the order of the show is subject to change.  Multi-breed exhibitors need to have additional handlers so that classes are not delayed.  If an owner refuses to allow someone else to handle an animal, that animal may miss its class. Each  ring will begin when the majority of animals are present. Two calls will be made for each class.  No one will be allowed in the show ring once the gate is closed.

Health Requirements:  Health papers are not required to enter the show.  All animals will be inspected at check-in before entering the barn.  Any animal showing signs of illness will not be permitted in pens.

Pens and Bedding: There will be no pen fees.  Pen space is limited, so tack will have to remain in the aisles.  Pine shavings will not be provided, but will be available for a fee.  Please clean your pens before leaving.  You can get out quicker by letting the local AG youth  clean your pen for you for $5 per pen as a fundraiser.(you can request this at check in or after the show)
